$APE holders are on a tear this evening as the Chimpers NFT project opened its card-collecting app on ApeChain and invited everyone to rip into their Diamond Fleece trading card packs!
Chimpers were in the cards on Tuesday as collectors aped on-chain to open packs of Chimpers and Bored Ape Yacht Club-inspired cards to see what they got—and if they won an insane prize!
“Diamond Fleece Packs are ready to claim,” the Chimpers tweeted earlier today. “Discover 33 unique digital x physical cards and uncover exclusive rewards! The quest to unlock the mystery begins. Each pack contains 2 cards and may include: • Diamond Fleece Cards • Thank Ape Card redeemable for $APE from @ThankApe• Shiny Briefcase Card redeemable for a merch bundle • All featured holders will receive their own card plus a Chimpions Card as a reward for participation!”
Following this announcement, $Apes and Apes filled the timeline with screenshots and videos of their pulls, sharing the nostalgic fun of ripping packs that reminded many of their childhoods or NBA Top Shot days.
“It’s incredible, we are so excited to finally launch our first card set on apechain,” Chimpers. Co-Founder Insight Chimp told the Gazette. “Apes n Chimps are taking over the timeline with all of their rips.”
These packs are filled with familiar faces from around the swamp, like JBond, Xeer, and Grateful Ape, and were inspired by the early days of BAYC when the Chimpers project posted The Bored Ape Chronicles all over the timeline.
“BAYC put NFTs in the spotlight in May 2021, paving the way for all that followed,” Chimpers Co-Founder Insight Chimp previously told the Gazette. “In July 2021, Timpers launched The Quest for the Diamond Fleece, one of the first projects to let holders utilize their IP in an artwork-driven adventure story. Now, three and a half years later, Timpers reimagines that iconic journey with the first-ever collectible card drop on ApeChain via the Chimpers card app.”
As everyone rips open their packs to see what they got, Chimpers announced a new full-set contest running through February 18th.
“To celebrate our first collectible set on Apechain… Share your rip reactions on X using #DiamondFleece for a chance to win bonus packs throughout the week! Collecting the full set by close of pack claim on Feb 18th will enter you into a raffle to win 1 Chimpers NFT.”
