THE FOAM HAT STAYS ON: Curtis And Blue Wore TokenGator Foam Hats During Today’s Record-Breaking Project Dragon Event!

The foam gator hat stays on around the swamp after 2,197 Apes, Meebs, Kodas, Moonbirds, Voyagers, and gamers from across the Web3 world and beyond aped into Otherside, breaking the Guinness World Record for the most players in an online first-person shooter!

Leave your lucky red hats and rally caps behind, the real deal in the metaverse is the foam gator hats, created by ApeChain’s TokenGators, that Curtis and Blue rocked during Saturday’s record-breaking Project Dragon event!

After today’s Project Dragon event, TokenGators Founder SuperTopSecret told the Gazette that getting those foam hats on Curtis and Blue wasn’t easy and that it was incredible to see the team’s hard work pay off in such a big way! 

“It was exciting,” he said. “I was going close to them. Flying out from the stands onto the stage to make sure everything looked right. Taking lots of screenshots. It’s difficult to explain. The foam hat is so simple but it took us a while to perfect. It’s a 2d trait from our collection. So it was drawn from one angle. When you try to bring that to life in 3d there’s a lot of decisions you have to make about the proportions, material, placement, and form…. Seeing it at that scale was probably the most surprising aspect.”

Curtis and Blue’s TokenGator foam hats were a hit with holders and others around in the swamp and ApeChain ecosystem, as many who took to the timeline to congratulate the Gators on becoming historic headwear!

Curtis himself even thanked the TokenGators for his foam hat during his world record acceptance speech after Yuga Labs officially broke the Guinness World Record!

“I have so many people to thank,” Curtis said. “I want to thank everybody here. I want to thank the concept of video games. I want to thank clouds. I want to thank these gator hats…Wow look at these leaderboards right here….I also want to thank my good friends.”

Having Curtis and Blue rock their Foam Gator hats isn’t the first time that the TokenGators have made waves around the swamp. Last Thanksgiving, the project showed just how thankful they are for $Ape holders and ApeChain by fitting tons of frens with foam gator hats of their own.

The project also made waves last month when it became the first cross-chain collection, inviting holders’ gators to swim to and from Ape and Ethereum!
