CHARTERING A NEW COURSE: OpensSea Gave The Web3 World A Treasure Chest Worth Of Updates And Info Today!

OpenSea swept the Web3 world like a wave this morning as the longtime NFT marketplace announced major changes for the better, updated the community on its highly anticipated $SEA token, went live on ApeChain and other chains, and opened its new beta marketplace to everyone!

The wind was at OpenSea’s back on Thursday as the NFT marketplace set sail on the timeline, sharing a treasure chest of updates about its $SEA token, expansion to more blockchains, and a sleek new marketplace UI!

“$SEA is coming,” the OpenSea Foundation tweeted this morning. “Here are a few things to know: • Historical OpenSea usage, not just recent activity, will be an important ingredient • Claim process will be simple and accessible. US users welcome • We’re focused on long-term sustainability and supporting a healthy, enduring community • No details on timing yet. We’re taking the learnings from this space and getting it right.”

While full details on the $SEA token remain unknown, confirmation that Americans will be able to participate in the claim is huge news, especially since they have been geo-gated from most token drops and claims in the past!

 $SEA token and these changes at OpenSea are part of the company’s plan to get back to its roots and be the Web3 company it set out to be before the NFT bull run of 2021 and 2022.

After today’s announcements, OpenSea CEO and Co-Founder DFinzer took to the timeline and said that Opensea is changing for the better.
