The sewers of Dookey Dash Unclogged are closing at the end of the month, but Yuga Labs’ pipe dream of a poop-themed endless runner game that takes place below the Bored Ape Yacht Club will continue on the Otherside!

Things were anything but boring on Monday when the BAYC announced that its mobile game, Dookey Dash Unclogged, will be shutting down at the end of February.
Following this announcement, Yuga Labs CEO Garga thanked the Web3 world and Dookey Dashers everywhere for playing “this stupid game” over the last five months and teased that this isn’t the game’s final flush!

“Massive thank you to everyone who played, streamed, and speedran their way through Dookey Dash,” he tweeted. “And thanks to our partners at Faraway for turning a ridiculous poop game we made 2+ years ago into a full fledged mobile game. With Season 1 wrapped, we’ve made the decision with Faraway to sunset the game in its current form. Dookey Dash will be coming down at the end of the week. From the Yuga side, our gaming efforts are 100% focused on Otherside, a metaverse where games like Dookey Dash can live forever. Expect to see the game resurface once our persistent world goes live in June.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, Dookey Dash began back in January 2023 when Apes and Mutants were invited to claim “Sewer Passes” that gave them access to the pipes below the BAYC, where they were tasked with retrieving a mystical key from Jimmy the Monkey’s butthole!

That originally planned one-off quickly became a hit around the swamp, and Yuga Labs brought the game back as an app in September 2024.
During the mobile game’s five-month run, it made waves on the download charts, collaborated with A Bathing Ape, BMW, Adidas, and McBees, hosted two tournaments, and gave away a million dollars in prizes to Dookey Dashers!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow Dookey Dash Unclogged this week and will let you know when and where the pipes reopen and how you can ape in. Stay tuned for updates!
