The Bored Ape Yacht Club’s community-led onboarding committee, Welcome Apes, will be celebrating its one-year anniversary tomorrow, reflecting on an incredible year of welcoming new frens to the swamp!
On Wednesday, Welcome Apes’ LawOfTheSaw will host the initiative’s one-year anniversary Twitter Space alongside some community legends.
“We got Grateful Ape and ShoBiz co-hosting with me for this special show,” Law told the Gazette. “We’ll be sharing our personal experiences of joining and being in the club, offering insights on ways to get involved, and of course, welcoming and hearing from new Apes who’ve joined recently.”
Welcome Apes began last year as a way to bring back early BAYC vibes and help newcomers get connected within the ever-growing swamp and $APE ecosystem.
“This idea spawned into the newly formed Welcome Ape Committee, an initiative designed to help them find their way around our huge eco system,” Welcome Apes Co-Founder Vicki told the Gazette last year. “We have so much to offer let’s help new members on bored!”
Since then, the Welcome Apes committee has hosted a weekly Welcome Apes Space, meeting newcomers every Wednesday at 5 P.M. EST and welcoming hundreds of Apes to the swamp!
“Honestly, it doesn’t even feel like it’s been a year—but it’s amazing to see how far we’ve come and that we’re still going strong,” Law said. “Over the past 12 months, we’ve welcomed over 700 Apes on the timeline, and it feels good to be of service.”
The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow the Welcome Apes program and will be in attendance during tomorrow’s anniversary show. Stay tuned for updates!
