After a week of dashing through the sewers below the Bored Ape Yacht Club, Yuga Labs and Faraway Gaming Studios’ first-ever esports tournament is coming to a close tomorrow. But Golden Plunger holders still have time to ape in tonight, rack up a high score, and secure their Dookey Flips—guaranteeing them at least $1,000 worth of $APE!
The 295 Golden Plunger holders are locked in around the swamp this evening, dodging cows and collecting jewels in the pipes during the inaugural Dookey Dash Unclogged Esports Tournament, which wraps up on Friday.
“The Season 1 esports tournament ends tomorrow, January 17, 2025,” te BAYC reminded everyone this evening. “If you have a Golden Plunger, make sure to log into the client before the tournament ends and play at least one game in order to be eligible for the minimum 2 Dookey Flips. All Golden Plungers not played in the tournament will not be eligible for Dookey Flips. No exceptions.”
As the Bored Ape Gazette previously reported, the 295 Golden Plunger holders—who either earned their way in, got lucky, or purchased this bathroom-themed ticket on the secondary market—were invited to dive back into the sewers and compete for a share of the $1 million prize pool.
First place in this week’s tournament will win a $50,000 USD grand prize and some Dookey Flips. Rankings will determine how many Dookey Flips each player earns, with prizes ranging from $500 to $35,000 USD. This means even the player who ranks last in the sewers could theoretically walk away with $35,000+. Not bad!
All Dookey Flip have an equal chance of landing in a specific prize bucket, so essentially, the more Dookey Flips you have, the higher chance you have for landing in the higher bucket on ApeCoin Prizes,” Yuga Labs wrote on its Dookey Dash FAQ page. “ Here is how the prize buckets will be divided:”
