Yuga Labs CEO Garga Wants This Month’s Project Dragon Event To Be One For The Record Books!

World records were on Yuga Labs CEO Garga’s mind this afternoon as he told Voyagers that he’d like to see the community break the record for the most concurrent players in a game during this month’s Project Dragon event!

For the second Wednesday in a row, Garga took to the Otherside Discord to talk about the metaverse with Voyagers.

During the Q&A, Garga said he wants  this month’s Project Dragon to be one for the record books.

“for this month’s dragon, I want to token-gate the first ~15 min ish while players flow in, and then let it rip so we can beat this world record of 1530 users,” he said. “Biggest barrier to this is getting enough cloud streaming boxes available ahead of time, but if a lot of people are playing on a Windows client we should easily be able to beat this.”

Setting this concurrent user record has been on Garga’s mind all year. On a recent episode of Vera The Intern, he explained that the Yugaverse had come close to breaking the record in the past and that the community is now on the verge of doing so.

“I think one of the things that people don’t get necessarily is that Otherside runs on M Squared and has the ability for mass concurrent,” he said. “The first Project Dragon we had 1300 people in one game in one shard all playing together. The world record is like 1,500 people for a shard, we are going to try and break that record pretty soon here.”

At this time, we do not know exactly when this month’s episode of Project Dragon will take place, but we do know it will be soon and that it will be taking place in the swamp!

The Bored Ape Gazette will continue to follow this month’s Project Dragon event and will let you know when the community and Yuga Labs break the concurrent user record. Stay tuned for updates!
